Dear Palisades Friends & Neighbors

 

As we begin our second full year as Palisades Regional Fire Rescue, our new name does not change the fact that we are still the same Fire Fighters that serve you from the Springtown, Riegelsville and Ottsville fire companies for almost 90 years.

 

We assure you that our goal remains the same, to provide you with the best quality emergency services possible. Unfortunately, our call volume has increased, and we needed to do something. Sometimes we need crew members from all three stations to get a sufficient crew, thus the need to consolidate the original fire departments. We know we are out a lot more often just by your comments on social media, “the Fire Guys are out again”.

 

These incidents range from Alarm Systems, Accidents, Wires and/or Trees down, Domestic, Vehicle and Marine Rescues, and of course every type of fire, plus mutual aid to all our surrounding communities who in turn help us when we need them. It’s a sad trend we are experiencing since busy lifestyles have caused diminished interest in volunteering for this type of activity. If you have an interest in volunteering, we would love to have you join our team. 

 

Lastly, I’m sure you’ve noticed most of the municipalities in which we all live in, have instituted an Emergency Services Tax or at least set aside part of their budgets to support us. Unfortunately, this financial support covers only roughly 60% of our operating budget. So once again, we are asking for your continued unwavering support.
